Te Waihou Walkway

Time to rug up warm and take a walk in the fresh air! Join us on a great walk just north of Putaruru.  This 5km walk through farmland, restorative wetlands and rolling pastures where you will reach the Blue Springs.

The Blue Spring is internationally acclaimed, with water from the Mamaku Plateau taking over 100 years to reach it. The water is sold commercially around New Zealand and supplies the local town of Putaruru, with no treatment necessary before distribution.

This great day out will need a good level of fitness and comfortable walking shoes as the walk is just under 5 kilometres - we will pick you up at the end of the track so you do not need to double back. Restroom stops will be made just before and just after the walk.

You will need:

  • Comfortable & sturdy footwear
  • Water & lunch/snacks
  • Sunblock & hat
  • Something warm to wear & a raincoat (just incase!)

When:

Saturday 13th June 2015

Full payment is to be made by Friday 5th June 2015.

If the weather is forecast to be raining we will not head out on this trip, instead reschedule it for another date - it's no fun walking in the pouring rain!
